Not so long ago, we were completely covered in darkness. The light from the sun powerless, overcome by the clouds. Clouds of rejection due to my imperfections. Clouds of isolation because in the eyes of men, I had nothing worthy of adoration. Clouds that brought no rain to this drought in my heart, my skin scorched and falling apart, pronouncing me “unclean." But, Because You were willing, Your eyes saw past my flaws, past the walls around my heart, so hardened You saw me for who I really am and offered to carry all that has me burdened Your lens filtering out the guilt and the shame that’s on the surface, searching for but a spark that will suffice to start a fire that will mould me into Your image And yet, here we are using nothing but mockery to pay You homage Because You were willing, Your ears heard the cries from the very depths of my soul…and You glided past the maze of my tightly wound up emotions and found me deep in a hole.
